NORTH FORT MYERS SENIORS -8-BALL LEAGUE

LEAGUE RULES: (Revised Feb. 2025)

 

TIME OUTS / RULES OF PLAY:

-Any observing team player may call a foul or call a timeout to warn the player that they are about to commit a foul during a game.

-Captains shall resolve any disputes and act as referees in accordance with Instructions for Referees as described in the Official Rules of Cuesports International, available on our website: COWANH.WIX.COM/NFM-

 

8-BALLSCORE SHEETS:

1.  Use Score Sheet #1, No Absent Players. Score sheets are available to print from our website in Forms & Procedures section. (There are 9 versions of the score sheet if playing with absentee(s).)

2.  Use “Allocation of Handicaps to Rounds Chart” in Forms & Procedures section.

3.  Link to Score Sheet Instructions document is in Forms & Procedure section.

4.  It is suggested that opposing captains keep their own score sheet during the match. Each Captain shall crosscheck and sign the score sheets at the end of the match.

5.  Home Team Captain is responsible to send score sheet to Data Input.

 

PROHIBITIONS:

1.  No coaching during a player's turn at the table.

2.  No “sharking.” This means refraining from deliberately distracting the shooter while he is addressing the cue ball for a shot such as talking or making movements in his line of sight.

3.  No profanity.

4.  After turn at the table, outgoing player shall sit down, not to distract incoming player by standing around the table while opponent is playing.​

5.  No practice allowed after start of league matches.

 

SPORTSMANSHIP: Detailed Notes about Sportsmanship and Communication by CueSports International is provided in each captain’s set of 8-Ball and General Rules.In addition, any un-sportsmanship behavior incident will be reviewed by the captains and a consequence and remedy will be voted upon. Majority vote rules. In the event of a tied vote, the League Director shall have the deciding vote.

The goal of our league is to provide a friendly gathering of recreational pool players to participate and enjoy the traditional old game of pocket billiards. Many friendships have evolved as result of this gathering and all will be done to maintain a friendly atmosphere.
